
The idea of Higher State of Being was born in 2014 by Michael Volpe, and put into place in 2017. The main intention is to teach people to meditate, so they can become more connected to their true selves, their Higher Mind, to Source/Creator & to Source/Creator’s Love, & to the harmony & natural synchronicity of the Universe. As well as sharing & spreading all the other positive effects of meditation & mindfulness into society.
Learning how to meditate can be a game changer in life. When you meditate, you are able to pass through the walls of the conscious mind & connect to the awareness that is deeper inside of you. The “Real” You. You let go of pre-conditioned notions, judgements & thoughts, & connect to the most authentic version of yourself. You switch your nervous system from the “fight or flight” stressed out state, to a “rest & relax” state, which allows your mind & body to settle, heal, & operate from a centered, stable place. You realize you are much more than “this body” & “this mind”, that everything in this world is connected. On a much deeper (or higher) level, we are all One. Meditation allows you to remember this, & connect to the infinite energy of Love that we all come from.
As you start this practice & incorporate it into your life, you discover the numerous “other” benefits that affect you on the physical, mental, emotional, & spiritual levels.
Michael Volpe feels that true change starts from within. If we want to change society and the world, we all have to start changing ourselves first. This became very clear when he started meditating. In his own words, here is why he became a teacher:

I learned how to meditate on my own in 2012, via an 8-week program that is well known and focuses on Mindfulness. I felt a difference after the very first session and noticed positive changes in my life during the first week. After the 8 week course was over, the results were undeniable and it made noticeable positive changes in all aspects of my life.
I continued to meditate and grow my spiritual practice, and in 2013 I decided that I needed to share this with as many people as possible. Not only to help people prosper individually, but also to help the world improve.
I decided to become a meditation teacher and took a 200 hour self study course with the Mclean Meditation Institute based out of Sedona, AZ, finishing in 2015. I then began teaching to the public in small groups, moving around to different locations to get it out there. As the time goes on, the groups have been bigger and I have taught more styles of classes, including corporate meditations for people at work, and a 9 month stretch of teaching meditation to inmates at a county jail on a weekly basis.
My goal is to reach as many people as possible and to grow this practice in society, to make it “normal” to meditate.
I do this because I want everyone to go through the same positive experiences I felt. I know first-hand how powerful the results are, and I know it can work for every single person on the planet, as long as they put the effort in.
So many of our perceived problems start in our heads, meaning they are thought up or created out of worry, anxiety, even imagination, etc. By really examining what we are thinking, we can make profound growth with our ability to control our thoughts, instead of letting them control us. This in turn affects our mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual states in a positive way.
There is so much more to it and I look forward to meeting as many people as possible to share this gift of meditation with.
